Shoring Questions

What is the difference between Shoring and Allpile?
The two programs use different methods and different kinds of soil pressures.
AllPile is based on the method of soil-structural interaction. Soil pressure changes with the pile deflection. If the pile deflects more, there is more resistance from the soil.
Shoring uses the equilibrium method. Passive pressure increases with depth. The pressure slope is constant, which is called equivalent fluid density.

The two programs are for two different situations:
In AllPile, the pile is symmetrically surrounded by soils.
In Shoring, the pile has two sections: the excavation section is the upper section. Only half of the pile is surrounded by soils. The pile can be supported by braces or tiebacks on upper section. There are may be lagging between piles. The embedment section is in the lower section. The pile is completely embedded in the soil.
